At present, hair oiling is the most popular hair care treatment that you can perform yourself at home.
There are a few facts which make it so popular. Most of all, oils are 100% natural and act both inside the hair and on its surface. As a result, hair is nourished and protected as well as grows healthy and strong.
Hair oiling with the use of natural oils can be done in several ways. Depending on the amount of time you have, it can be an overnight or a quick treatment.
Three methods of hair oiling:
1. Overnight oiling.
Choose an oil, apply it to dry hair, massage into the scalp so that it penetrates deep into the bulbs. Leave on for the night or several hours and rinse it.
2. Damp hair oiling.
If you use this method, you don’t need to leave it for a long time. Damp hair has much more raised cuticles and better absorption thus it absorbs the oil more quickly. Apply the oil to hair and scalp, wait more or less an hour and shampoo the hair thoroughly. If you have really damaged strands, you can add 2-3 drops of the oil to a conditioner that you usually use after washing.
3. Oiling in a bowl.
It is probably the fastest oiling method. Prepare: natural oil (5 ml – one teaspoon), herbal infusion (camomile, nettle, horsetail), a spoon of vinegar, lemon or orange juice. Mix all the ingredients and pour the mixture to a bowl or washbasin. The choice is tremendous and you may choose between ingredients that you have in your kitchen. Pour the ingredients with ½ litre of water, preferably boiled. Now, wash your hair, drown the hair in the herbal-oil mixture, keep it for a few minutes, dry it gently and style as you like.
